Wesley James DeCasere is an American tubist and music educator based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. An active freelance musician and soloist, he has performed with ensembles including the Cecilia Chorus of New York City Orchestra, The Orchestra Now, and the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. His solo appearances have taken him throughout the United States and internationally, including performances in Mexico City and the Philippines. 

Wesley’s playing has earned national recognition. In 2024, he was selected as a finalist in the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” National Collegiate Solo Competition. Wesley holds degrees from Lynn University and the University of Minnesota and has also studied at Rutgers University and the University of Delaware. His musical development has been shaped by distinguished teachers and mentors, including Gene Pokorny, Aaron Tindall, Joseph Guimaraes, Steven Campbell, and Alan Baer. He is also a proud alumnus of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and The Cadets2 Drum and Bugle Corps. 

Equally committed to music education, Wesley has taught students of all ages in the United States and abroad. He has served as a teaching fellow at the Lutheran Summer Music Festival and Academy, a low brass clinician with the Orchestra of the Philippine Youth, and a private instructor in the greater Twin Cities and Northern New Jersey areas. He has also appeared at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music in the Philippines, where he presented a tuba masterclass and performed as a guest soloist.
